7/5: A fun, final day in Italy

A fun=filled day with the Jags in and around Sorrento - one of the highlights of Italy for me (Simone).

We toured around Positano and Amalfi - driving the breathtaking, windy roads around the mountains and stopping at vistas to take it all in. We saw homes built into the cliffs, an original Amalfi fishing village, carvings into the mountains, vespas terrifyingly speed around cliff corners, and gorgeous views at every turn.

We stopped in Positano to explore this popular honeymoon town. Once our feet touched the beach and water, we were all in. We decided to shorten our coastal town hopping and spend the afternoon enjoying the ocean, pizza and lemon gelato of Amalfi.

After a quiet ride back to Sorrento, we popped by a local beach club (after an unsuccessful attempt at 10 of us strolling in pretending to be members), and enjoyed an evening swimming with the mountains behind us. A lovely dinner with our new friend Carmen at local spot, Storico 8, capped off a perfect final day in Italy.

I’ll be dreaming about gelato and pizza on the beach tonight, and hope to make it back here one day. I would be more wistful about leaving, but we’ll be in PARIS tomorrow!
