Mon coeur est à Paris!

We had a wonderful 10 days in France. In another life, I could live in Paris. Rather than running all the time, the French seem pretty good at enjoying life - chatting over coffee or wine at a sidewalk cafe, strolling along the Seine. There’s so much to see and do, but you also feel content just roaming about town. The Eiffel Tower was impressive (even if I was more terrified than I expected to climb it) and Kiera/my painting class in Luxembourg Garden reminded me how fun and relaxing it can be to try something you’re bad at in a beautiful place. We weren’t there long enough to gain the French fashion sense, we may have to come back for that. We ate 40 croissants, 25 crepes, countless baguettes and pastries, pounds of meat and cheese and very few veggies. We never had a meal we didn’t like or a bottle of wine we didn’t finish. Luckily, the food will be less tempting in the UK. And Saint Malo was amazing and exactly what we needed! An adorable beach town, once an important WW1 military base, this walled city has it all - A fun vibe, crazy tide swings, a beautiful fort to explore, yummy seafood, and sweet residents. Our days consisted of morning walks to our local patisserie for breakfast, afternoons on the beach and evenings in the old town, including seeing some lovely Bastille Day fireworks. Add our 20 hours in fairytale tidal town Mont Saint Michel and the most beautiful sunset I’ve seen in my 43 years, and we will now go anywhere Michelle and Max ever recommend (thank you!). We fell for France indeed, we’ll be back.
